Sandra Anselmi
Sandra Anselmi (Farroupilha, RS, 1974) é artista autodidata cuja prática se desenvolve na intersecção entre natureza, memória e linguagem têxtil. A partir de uma relação profunda com o universo do tricô e dos saberes manuais, constrói uma pesquisa que investiga as conexões invisíveis entre os seres, os ciclos da natureza e as formas de conhecimento produzidas coletivamente.
Utilizando o fio como matéria e linguagem, cria esculturas e instalações imersivas que evocam sistemas orgânicos, redes de interdependência e experiências de pertencimento. Em seus trabalhos, o gesto de tecer torna-se uma metáfora para os vínculos que conectam diferentes formas de vida, articulando memória, imaginação e experiência sensível.
Paralelamente à sua produção artística, atua como Diretora Criativa da Anselmi, uma das principais marcas brasileiras de tricô, trazendo para sua obra uma extensa vivência no campo da criação têxtil e da experimentação material.
Sua obra “Natureza Tecida” integrou, em 2025, o projeto “Portas pra Arte” da Fundação Bienal do Mercosul, e chega agora a São Paulo, na Mata Lab, no desdobramento “Somos Um Único Fio”, expandindo a pesquisa da artista sobre interdependência, memória, conexão e coexistência entre os seres.

Sandra Anselmi (Farroupilha, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, 1974) is a self-taught artist whose practice unfolds at the intersection of nature, memory and textile language. Rooted in a deep relationship with knitting and traditional craftsmanship, her research explores the invisible connections between living beings, the cycles of nature, and forms of knowledge generated through collective experience.
Using thread as both material and language, Anselmi creates sculptures and immersive installations that evoke organic systems, networks of interdependence, and experiences of belonging. In her work, the act of weaving becomes a metaphor for the bonds that connect different forms of life, bringing together memory, imagination, and sensory experience.
Alongside her artistic practice, Sandra is the Creative Director of Anselmi, one of Brazil’s leading knitwear brands, bringing extensive experience in textile creation and material experimentation to her work.
In 2025, her project Natureza Tecida was featured in Portas pra Arte, an initiative of the Mercosul Biennial Foundation. The work now arrives in São Paulo at Mata Lab through Somos Um Único Fio, a new unfolding of the project that expands the artist’s exploration of interdependence, memory, connection, and coexistence among living beings.
